Cooling for preservation of donor organs

Organ Assist is founded from UMC Groningen with the goal to develop reliable systems that can preserve the quality of donor organs over a longer period of time. This increases the success rates of organ transplant procedures.

Variass Medical Systems has taken a number of systems in series production. These portable systems allow isolated hypothermic oxygen-rich blood flow of the donor organs during transport. Alflex Technologies supplies custom made liquid to air cooling assemblies for the Organ Assist that will keep the organs at the required temperature.
